We hope that you remember every single moment, each breath, each drink, every smile and all the food. Yet, you will find that so much happens when you are here, to you physically and mentally and every action you take, that some moments will stick out in your memory more than others.
Here’s our list of some of the moments you will experience that will stay with you forever, you can use this as a guide so that you make sure you do at least a few because honestly, it will be worth it!
Partying till Sunrise
Koh Phangan is full of all different kinds of activities yet the one which still reigns as most famous is of course the parties. You will probably go to at least one while you are here even if it is not the Full Moon.
One of the most amazing memorable things about the parties here is staying until sunrise, a lot of people will even wait to go to a party till the early hours so that they don’t have to wait long to see the spectacular show in the morning.
You can see so many smiling faces, people worshipping the energy of the sun's light, almost hailing the morning with their dancing and it brings a fresh energy to any dancefloor. Some of our favourite places to party till sunrise are Jungle Experience which we actually favour in the daylight rather than the super busy nighttime and Lighthouse in Haad Rin.
Friendships
You will easily make new friends whilst you’re here, especially if you are staying in a hostel. It is a great way to broaden your mind and learn things about different cultures around the world whilst having company to do things together here.
Some friendships will last and some will not but you will still look back on spending time with these people for years to come as you share some spectacular once in a lifetime experiences.
You will get the chance to meet maybe your soul mate friend that you would not of met elsewhere or back home, these people will being a new aspect to you life so enjoy them whilst they last.
The Varying Weather
This might be your very first time experiencing tropical heat. Blistering sunshine and lots of humidity that may take you awhile to get used to. You also might experience some of the mightiest storms you have ever witnessed or got caught in. Stopping your bike at the side of the road mid journey to escape the heaviest downpour of rain you’ve seen. You’ll be soaked but it will be funny and it will stay with you forever.
The weather here can be very strange, you can be sat on a beach just after sunset, the heat from the sun still lingering but in the distance you see beautiful electric lightning displays in the sky.
Sunsets
Everyone’s favourite hobby on Koh Phangan, it has to be the sunsets. It makes you ask questions about life and the earth and that vast space that lies beyond our white fluffy clouds and atmosphere, what is the meaning of all of this…? You will also share these sunset moments with your new friends or your close ones and this will bring you even closer as you talk and wonder of this spectacular natural show.
Remember that we are truly blessed to be able to experience these kind of sunsets amongst the exotic nature of Phangan, it will be one of the things you remember about your time here and you may miss being part of sunset culture and the chase to get the best one so appreciate the freedom here that you have to do it.
Meeting a Whale Shark
This will be one of your goals if you come to dive on Koh Phangan, a chance to swim with a Whale Shark at Sail Rock.
These majestic creatures whilst young get a little lost on their way and end up swimming past the rock along their migration, so it's a very unique place to see them!
Seeing the Jungle
All of the nature on Koh Phangan is exquisite and we hope it stays that way yet you will never forget that feeling of seeing all of the vast untouched jungle that is at the centre of the island. Take a tour and witness all of the greenery, wonder at what the jungle holds, creepy crawlies, monkeys, snakes, birds and other secret wildlife that is sacredly held in the jungle.
