A tender juicy burger isn’t that difficult to find even on the tropical islands of Thailand. As tasty as Thai food is, we sometimes crave some good ole comfort food!
Truthfully, the best burger list is almost impossible to compile. However, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourites and why we enjoy them.
Burgers can be found usually within everyone's price range and we all seem to love them maybe because they're easy to eat. You don't need to do a lot of chewing since the beef is ground up. It's simple to eat when it's eaten in a bun. There's no chopping, there's just lifting. And since a number of sides come with burgers, you can create yours to your own satisfaction. That's often appealing. Burgers, all in all are popular because burgers are satisfying and tasty. When we want to be fed, they do the work of feeding us. And we can be thankful to the burger for that.

What’s the occasion? Casual diner-style meal alone or with a friend
Why we enjoy eating here: Conveniently located in Baantai, it means wherever you are on the island you shouldn’t be more than 15 minutes away. Also, they’re open till late - so perfect for a pre-party snack or a post-party grub.
The food: The portions here are generous so come hungry. 150gr local beef patty, bacon, blue cheese, sauteed onions, tomatoes, pickles, mayonnaise. We also enjoy the homemade coleslaw and if you’re feeling extra then try the to-die-for Poutine - French fries smothered in cheese and Montreal gravy and if you’re still hungry - complete your meal with their delicious thick diner-style milkshakes!

What’s the occasion? Breakfast / Brunch / In the mood for healthy homemade artisanal comfort foods
Why we enjoy eating here: Firstly, if you’re new to the island - Michael and his team do a great job showcasing their foods on their website & social media. This is so important for customers who are unfamiliar with the island - especially if you’re only here for a few days and don’t want to waste time. Located in the epicentre of restaurants in Soi Krungthai. Walking into A’s Famous gives you this nostalgic feeling of walking into a New York City or Cape Town Deli and will make a Foodie feel right at home. Almost everything is made in house - From the bread to the complimentary sauces. Michael and his staff will welcome you warmly every time. It’s also a great place to grab a coffee and people watch.
The food: 100% Beef Burger topped with a fried egg, melted cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, crispy onions, lettuce & tomato on a homemade soft brioche bun paired with their GIANT Coconut Ice Cream Shake or their Energizer Juice, Beetroot, Carrot, Pineapple & Mint. Their Dessert window is always a delight too.
One of our favourite: Goat Cheese Charolais Beef Burger (B320)
What’s the occasion? Family dinners, fancy date nights, special celebrations.
Why we enjoy eating here: Tucked away in a cosy corner of Seetanu Bungalows, right next to the beach. The perfect mix of private, comfort and luxury.
The food: Firstly, if you come here on payday - make sure you don’t bring your cards with you! Jokes aside, the menu is so diverse and mouth-watering, you’ll want to try everything. Staying on topic with burgers - Charolais Beef is greatly sought after and appreciated by connoisseurs for its flavour and tenderness. Topped with salad, tomatoes, onions and smothered in goat cheese and paired with a tall glass of wine. You are in heaven.
One of our favourites: Uncle Sams Burger
What’s the occasion? Honestly, it's tough to say. They’re open 24hrs/365. They show all LIVE sports and just next door, they host live musicians, DJs, Pool competitions - You name it, they do it. A lively venue that could be a good spot for a first date or a birthday celebration.
Why we enjoy eating here: Basically, if McDonald’s & Hooters had a baby you end up with this incredible venue called Food Factory. They serve American style burgers, thin-crust Italian pizzas, flaming grilled chicken. Indian and of course Thai food. The half open-air barn yard design and sports decorations give this fast food venue a charming atmosphere.
The food: Ground Wagyu beef, brioche bun, double cheddar, streaky bacon & homemade thousand island sauce. The wagyu beef in this burger completely tantalizes your tastebuds with all sorts of flavours. Paired with their golden fries and a pint of ice-cold LEO on tap.
One of our favourites: The Trio Burger
What’s the occasion? Hot summer days - chilling by the swimming pool with friends & family / Lazy lounge day / Hangover day by the beach
Why we enjoy eating here: Located on the quiet beach of Baan Kai, its the perfect place to lounge around on their king-size day beds, cool off in their swimming pool and enjoy the beachfront views. Not to mention, their massive selection of food & drinks - Great for group gatherings as you don’t have to worry about what your guests do or don’t eat.
The food: If you do decide to get a burger - we recommend the trio burger platter which includes a tasty beef burger, juicy pork burger & flavorful chicken burger all on one platter.
One of our favourites: The Mexican
What’s the occasion? Live Sporting Event / Feast mode / Group gatherings / Date night
Why we enjoy eating here: SOHOs clean, modern and spacious design will make you feel like you’re in an open-air bar on top a Bangkok rooftop - though, after a few Brewdog IPA’s and a delicious feast, you realize you’re on a tropical island.
The food: Peri Peri Chicken with roasted peppers, guacamole, sour cream, salsa, cheese & jalapeños served with skinny fries, onion rings, coleslaw and pickles on a stunning metal platter - alongside their famous sauce rack. With a fully stocked bar of imported spirits and beers, There’s a reason why SOHO is our drinkers choice.
One of our favourites: Bacon Cheese & Mushroom Burger
What’s the occasion? Open Air Dining / Beer Garden / Sunday roasts / In the mood for comfort food / Pub atmosphere
Why we enjoy eating here: Located just outside Thongsala near to the Muaythai gyms, is a lovely English style pub with an open-air garden with lots of space for kids to run around. The design is so similar to an English pub - you feel like you’re in England (Minus the SH** weather) so you get the best of both worlds! This is the place to be when you’re missing the comforts of home.
The food: The burgers here are the most bang for your buck in. They even have cheaper options like the Cheeseburger or Hamburger, pairing it with a tall tasty Guinness.
One of our favourites: Veggie Bean Burger
What’s the occasion? Sunday brunch / Early morning dives to sail rock / post-dive meal.
Why we enjoy eating here: You’ll most likely be in the areas of Mae Haad, Haad Yao or Chaloklum - although the drive from town is well worth it. If you’re
H-A-N-G-R-Y take the middle road and you’ll be there in 20 minutes or if you’re in no rush, take the coastal road and enjoy the scenic views. Located opposite the Chaloklum pier in a cute, rustic shophouse where friendly locals spend their day in and out of here. Often before their dive trip and then after. Lotta also makes some of the best coffee on the island. Filling up our stomachs with whole food fuel early in the morning before a hike to Beach Beach is recommended!
The food: Their Veggie Bean burger is quite unique and full of flavour, we also paired the burger with a Passion fruit & coconut shake (B70) and to top it off with one of their guilt-free desserts. One of the great things about The Worlds End is the openness & flexibility to customize your food to your preferences. It feels like eating at your own paradise home!

What’s the occasion? Cosy gatherings and catch up with friends
Why we enjoy eating here: This cosy and small shophouse centrally located in the charming “Soi Krungthai” area near to the Panthip night market makes this place easy to get to. The small space can be a squeeze as its often packed to the brim. If you’re feeling boozy their jumbo mojitos are a must and if not, their selection of shakes and smoothies are great too! Also, the atmosphere here is usually buzzing so making new friends is easy.
The food: Fresh ingredients combined with attentive detail to grilling each beef pattie to perfection + the buzzing atmosphere, friendly staff, great drink selection. Simple yet golden combination.
One of our favourites: Cheeseburger
What’s the occasion? Romance in Hin Kong or Zen Beach afterparty.
Why we enjoy eating here: Phangan Cove is a beautiful location where you can dine on the beach. They are very generous with portions, and the resort is well-kept and run with Love.
The food: Big and juicy beef burgers with cheese, lots of fresh ingredients with nice bread and a nice amount of french fries on the side and served well.
Don't let the name fool you, Lexy is famous for her burgers and she is also super sweet!
Crave gives you a comfortable environment, serving incredible burgers.

As Koh Phangan has developed so has the island's offering of cuisines, it is easy to find a burger that you personally will enjoy even if it differed from the choice of your friends. When you need that spot to be hit you can go grab a burger here in the Gulf of Thailand. You might even meet a few Thai people who have taken to and are also partial to a juicy beef burger!
