Thai Airways announced that they plan to operate charter flights from six destinations to Phuket and back. The destinations mentioned are Hong Kong, Denmark, Korea, Japan, England, and Germany.
The Thai air flight carrier also plans to fly tourists from select destinations from China to Phuket.
Mr. Chansin Treenuchagron, the acting president of Thai Airways, said the airline hopes to operate two flights a month, with plans to raise frequency if there is sufficient interest, from around late November 2020.
Thai Airways has placed in effect a range of protective steps to secure staff and passengers from COVID 19.
Physical distancing extends to all aspects of service, including check-in, customer boarding, seating arrangement, meals in boxes to avoid direct contact, and to disembark.
Passengers will be required to wear a face mask at the airport and during the flight, and cabin crew to wear safety masks and gloves when providing services and observing passengers for any symptoms.
The Ministries of Public Health and Defense have already approved many hotels such as the Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas for Alternate State Quarantine (ASQ).
