Beginning April 1, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration will gradually relax Covid-19 controls for foreign arrivals, shortening or removing quarantine periods and increasing the range of activities allowed.
Visitors would not be allowed to publish a fit-to-fly document from April 1, according to CCSA spokesman Taweesilp Visanuyothin.
Quarantine facilities of various types would be operative from April 1 to September 30.
They would be replaced by "close observation" devices and "bubble and seal" measures at airports, transportation routes, tourist destinations, and communities near tourist destinations beginning October 1.
Quarantined arrivals would be allowed to leave their rooms around April 1 and June 30 to enter a gym, outdoor exercise area, swimming pool, and controlled areas for cycling and outside shopping.
They would be able to eat in restaurants at their hotels and get wellness massages from July 1 to September 30.
Quarantine would be required only for people arriving from specific areas on October 1st.
From April 1 to September 30, arrivals without a vaccination certificate (VC) or a Covid-19 free certificate (CFC) would be quarantined for 10 days and tested for the disease twice, according to Dr. Taweesilp.
Arrivals with VCs or CFCs would be quarantined for seven days and tested only once. Those with VCs but no CFCs would be exposed to two tests.
Arrivals from areas where the Covid-19 virus has mutated, which is a global concern, would be quarantined for 14 days, according to Dr. Taweesilp.
