The Harbor Department launches the Jomtien beach sand supplementation project, to solve the problem of beach erosion, ready to promote tourism. The project will start work in stage 1 first, a total distance of more than 3.5 kilometers.

Harbor Department, Ministry of Transport Therefore moved forward Jomtien Beach as the second project to support the tourism business of Chonburi Province.
Mr. Wittaya Ya Muang, Director-General of the Marine Department, revealed that from the study and master plan to solve the problem of erosion in the eastern Gulf, by the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources Year 2009, it was found that Jomtien Beach (Chonburi Province) is currently experiencing severe and continuous erosion same Pattaya Beach.

This project has been allocated a budget of 586,047,000 baht. The Harbor Department hired Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited to be responsible for enhancing the sand in Jomtien Beach, Chonburi Province Phase 1.
This time starting work from 29 May 2020 until 15 November 2022 for a period of 900 days.
By the sand source that will be used to supplement Jomtien Beach, taken from the western area of Koh Rang Wagon, It is about 15 kilometers from Jomtien Beach and is the same source used to supplement the sand of Pattaya Beach.
It is expected that this time, it will use a total of about 6.4 hundred thousand cubic meters of sand.
The scope of work is divided into 8 types as :
1. Beach sand reinforcement work, 3,575 meters long
2. Construction of beach sand supply, length 225 meters
3. Installation of dry beach protection system by draining into the underground floor 2,105 meters.
4. Installation of the drainpipe, connects the original drain pipe length 51 meters.
5.Construction work of concrete stairs up-down to the beach 67 points
6.Installation of sculpture and standard signboard, a total of 2 points
7.Environmental monitoring measures

After the restoration of Jomtien Beach is complete. The average width of the beach is about 50 meters, it is more beautiful and used as a recreation area.
