The Thai government has set July 1 for the lifting of all business and activity lockdowns that were previously ordered to cope with the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19), the National Security Council chief said.
These include international and interprovincial travel and the end of an emergency decree and an emergency exit.
Gen Somsak Rungsita, secretary-general of the NSC, said Thursday that lifting restrictions would be a full reopening for the nation. Officials would prepare measures for the reopening next month.
"Authorities will have serious discussions because other laws will be used instead after the emergency decree ends," he said.
"People 's cooperation is important, it's about using face masks, social distancing, hand washing, and limited activity. As long as the disease spreads all over the world, we'll have to fight against it for some time."
Gen Somsak said the public administration executive decree in emergency situations would end in June, and the ban on international travel would continue until that time.
The complete reopening will take place in June, after the third relaxation process.
