The government is encouraging people to help report actions deemed to violate the rules and regulations of the government to curb the spread of Covid-19 by calling 1111 on the national hotline.
People can report any violations of the Emergency Order, which has been in place since last year and has been extended to combat the coronavirus numerous times.
The government claims that people can call the hotline for major violations, like labor trafficking across Thailand's porous Myanmar border, which is said to have led to a new wave of infections affecting Samut Sakhon's large migrant community.
People can also phone for minor violations on the hotline, even as gatherings that do not abide by measures to control the disease.
According to the government spokesman, Anucha Burapachaisri, despite the Emergency, hundreds of citizens were reported violating the Covid-19 restriction measures and laws.
For the report of the alleged Covid-19 violations and also general complaints related to Covid-19 situations, the hotline is open.
It is expected that all complaints and reports will be fully investigated by the agencies in charge, and all caller information will be kept confidential. On request, a service for English speakers is available.
Since being set up, a total of 32,008 inquiries and general questions have so far been received by hotline.
