Sophia La Pastina who is from Brazil will be teaching at International Yoga Day on June 21st…
Hi Sophia, what style of Yoga do you teach, and where?
I teach Medicine Tantra Yoga, a fusion from Traditional Hatha Tantric system and Vinyasa based in 8 limbs or parts which is: Mudra, Puja, Mantra, Pranayama, Kriya, Asana, Yoga Nidra and Meditation. These powerful tools can take the practitioner to alternate states of consciousness and Self awareness. I teach at Samma Karuna

How did you end up here on Koh Phangan?
On Koh Phangan, where I live is the most beautiful love story of my life and where I had the most painful break up as well. So I came to heal here, because the medicine and the poison live in the same place.
What do you think can be achieved from International Yoga Day?
It's an opportunity for people to try different styles of yoga and as well as to build community by sharing yoga, moments of unity together.

How has yoga changed your life?
Yoga made me want to be a better person every day and at the same time made me realise that I have everything I need inside.
It made me more conscious of my patterns and gave me tools to transform them by enlightening awareness in the unconscious parts of who I thought I was.
It was a huge wave of transformation influencing all areas of my life without mentioning improvement of concentration and overall happiness.
Why do you think practicing yoga on Koh Phangan is special?
Koh Phangan is a magical island where you can find a lot of alternative options health and spiritual wise. As well the stunning nature around supports the connection within and the air is full of Prana, life force
And leave us with your personal Yogi Philosophy…
