Yoga on Koh Phangan - Miriam Yogamoon

Phanganist presents Miriam, founder of Yogamoon.

It is the healthy consequence of a mind which knows that access to truth comes both from within and beyond it; that the body's natural language of semiotics has been obscured by a layer of white noise hovering like smoke above the wild instinct of body and heart. This obfuscation of body wisdom is a robbery – a fragmentation of selfhood inevitable in times where chemicals and heavy metals dull the senses, entertainment happens on screen, circadian rhythms are obliterated by artificial sun and stars, where food and soil have lost their capacity for nourishment and the delicate cycles of feminine energy are regarded as inconveniences.

Far from being a means to further objectify and punish the body, Yoga, in its purest form, is a highly intelligent advanced ancient technology able to reconnect its practitioners to the whispers of truth rising up from, what at first appears to be the body, but is in fact, the entire being coming back to life. Through my own pains and alienation from my body and the resulting delight at meeting her again with the practice of a yoga designed to speak specifically to the rhythms of myself as a woman, I created Yoga Moon.

My intention is to share what I have experienced in the hope that others will benefit. As I share what I know in these early stages of womanhood, I remain a curious and hardworking student pursuing ways of celebrating the divine feminine in all her multifaceted glory. Jai Ma. Miriam
