To discover the south of Thailand, do not forget the province of Krabi before joining the island of Koh Phangan.
The province of Krabi, accessible by plane directly from its airport which is 20 minutes from the city centre is located near the Malaysian border.
Krabi is a central point to visit the islands of the region, rent a scooter to discover the surroundings or to reach Koh Lanta, Koh Pi Pi, etc. If you prefer to stay on the mainland, go to the side of Ao-Nang bay, with its restaurants and huge beach but especially its calm, far from the crowds of tourists!
Once well rested, it is time to discover Koh Phangan, famous not only for its beautiful beaches but also for its parties bringing together thousands of revelers from around the world!
So we take our backpack and ticket!
The trip to both destinations will take between 5 and 8 hours depending on the option you choose. The Krabi - Koh Phangan route costs about 700 Baht. can book online, or you can go to the front desk of your hotel, prices are the same. You will take a bus in the centre of Krabi which will take you to either Surat Thani or Donsak a little further, depending on the company you choose, to take the ferry (You can even leave from Ao-Nang if it is where you put your suitcases). The bus trip takes about 3h30 and the ferry between 2h and 3h. Here again everything depends on whether it is a catamaran or a high speed ferry.
If you travel in the middle of the day, plan what to eat because the bus-ferry transfer is fast. Otherwise the boat will offer a snack service, for the most greedy of the group no worries.
Enjoy the crossing to admire the view of the islands and even the sunset if you calculate well the schedule of the trip. Take out the camera, there is the moment!
Once arrived, many taxis will allow you to reach your hotel and no surprise on the price because the rates are displayed and identical throughout the island.
All you have to do is to rest peacefully after the crossing... Or go out and enjoy until no time, because you are in Koh Phangan, no one will judge you. So enjoy, beaches, parties, restaurants, bars, you are spoilt for choice ...
