Surat Thani Province has announced urgent new regulations in the attempt to curb an outbreak of Covid 19. Surat Thani province covers Koh Phangan, Koh Tao and Koh Samui.
They are as follows:
Temporary closure of cockfighting arenas, fish fighting arena, cow and buffalo fighting arena, boxing ring, birds singing competition and cockfighting training.
An opening time limit for some businesses:
Internet and game shop from 14.00-19.00 Mon-Fri. 10.00-19.00 on weekend and follow the disease control measures.
All education institutes close from 5th - 18th January.
Department stores, cinemas, theatres, food courts, community malls, Meeting centres only open until 21.00 with strict precautions and to follow the disease control measures.
Convenience stores and supermarkets must strictly follow the disease control measures.
Massage places/snooker/billiards open until 21.00 strictly follow the disease control measures. Only one person should use a sauna at a time.
Pubs, bars, karaoke are allowed to open till 24.00 but no alcohol consumption and strictly follow the disease control measures.
Restaurants not allowed to serve alcohol
People who enter Suratthani province should register through QR code and screening. People should stop or avoid travelling between province.
Government and private sector should consider Work From Home.
Breaching the order will result in 2 years imprisonment or no more than 40000 baht fine or both.
