Here at Phanganist Hostel we’ll be having a foam party! Join us from 10am in the morning with DJ Giant on the decks and our great team of Thai staff will for sure be in top spirits ready to drench you all or chuck you in the pool!
During Thailand’s New Year's Day the Thai people will pray to Buddha, clean temples and houses, offer alms to the monks and sprinkle scented water on elders as a mark of respect.
The pouring of water symbolises the cleansing of the spirit, mind and body.
The water is also supposed to wash away bad luck - so consider yourself blessed if you get drenched!
Luckily and Happily Songkran falls during the hottest time of the year (usually!) and cold water sprinkles are a welcome relief.
Water Fights using buckets, water guns, water pipes and ice cube throwers!!
Prickly Heat Powder and every kind of water throwing invention are on the streets!
