Mak was born in Trang near Krabi and came to Koh Phangan in January this year. Before this he was in Bangkok for Bangkok Bank but of course he likes it here more. He is twenty five and a single man!
What made you decide to come here?
I didn’t like the job as it was the same every day. One of my friends recommended me to Mr Poo. They said to go to Koh Phangan and meet the people. I had never been before!
What had you heard about Phangan before?
I just knew about Full Moon, just that.
And now what do you think?
I think that when I got here and I saw many beautiful things that Phangan has more than just a party. I go around the island to look and now think differently to before, I thought it was just parties and many people in Bangkok think this.
What do you think about the parties?
Sometimes I go to Full Moon but I don’t like to party so much as I am working hard.
Although I do have friends who work at Full Moon so I go and see them at Paradise Bunglalows when I finish work at 2am!
What do you think about your job at Saturn?
I have worked here for ten months and am very happy here.
It is the only thai style bar in Koh Phangan, with music so that if you want to enjoy and sing a song you can come here. There is no Trance, or Techno but we have a small party, and you can dance with our music.
What do you do to relax?
I don’t know because I never get to! I work then I sleep and wake up, sometimes I go to the sea but I work at the nighttime, I sleep in the day a little bit, if you want to call us make sure it is after 1pm!
Why do you like working here?
Everyday I can meet many people, a lot of girls and women! European women are the most beautiful.
And I want to learn english so it is good to meet tourists, I don’t care if people are thai or farang as long as I can understand them.
What are your plans for the future?
I want to have my own small business like a coffee shop, maybe a chain, everywhere but I don’t know right now.
