The fashion on the island can go one way or another. On one hand it is always the same with tourists and party goers in their neon uniform, boys in vests and shorts and girls in bikinis or dresses picked up cheaply on the stop off in Bangkok on the Khao San Road.
The other side is the local Thais and Expats, some care for style and others do not. There's always a mini micro climate of current styles circulating on the party and 'trendy' circuit but most people are so free here that each individual has their own style and doesn't bother with Western trends.
And of course we applaud this! Be yourself!
