Alice and her husband Flo fell in love with Koh Phangan 2 years ago. Even when they had just got off of the boat and were at the Pier they had a strange feeling, they fell in love and felt it directly.
Even with the arrival of 7 new puppies and the work with their resort The Magic Wave, Alice still popped into the office to talk about her singing career for us at Phanganist...
Bonjour Alice, congratulations on your new arrivals! When did you start your singing career?
It was when I was 20. At first I just got in contact with a Bar and Restaurant in Brussels and started to perfom there, it was only for a small amount of money. After 2 years of this I signed a contract with a major company in Paris (BMG). When I went back to Brussells I could start to charg more. So, this was the beginning! for 18 years it was my only job. I had a few different concepts, it could be only me, or me with other female singers, me and a pianist, or a band and with company dancers.
Where have you performed before?
Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Switzerland, Netherlands, france, St Tropez, Couchevel, Israel, Greece, gemany and more.
You will be performing at Phangan Beach Resort for their 9 year Anniverary, will you be performing elsewhere too?
I offered the show to them because in Phangan I don’t want to charge, for the moment I am just working like this as I have The Magic Wave also. Next year I want to contact event agencies in Samui and do more singing there and Koh Phangan.
How do you spend your free time on Koh Phangan and what are your favourite places?
When it’s possible, as we are very busy, we go for a couple of days outside of Phangan for a little break. I always have a good time at Lighthouse Party, Guys Bar, Eden and Loilay when it used to be on! Loilay was my favourite party it really is a special place. We like to go to the North of the island to have lunch when we can. I live here and I love the place.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Haha well I would love say, three children with Florian, maybe to be on a boat somewhere in the ocean with the dogs and children. Maybe return to Europe to Ibiza to open a restaurant or bar maybe new Zealand…..? Who knows…?
What is your life philosophy?
Life is too short to live only in the same place all your life, this is why I am so happy here and want to move to different places around the world.
