The Phanganist speak to Mac who has recently taken over the Sogno Del Mare Pizzaria and Hostel.
Based in Haad Rin close to the beach, this new venue is offering a free pizza for every guest staying with them in the dormitory!

What’s your Koh Phangan story?
I’ve lived here for 6 years already. I have an Italian friend Henrico and he interested me in going into business together.
We love the design of the place, who came up with it?
Henrico design the orange and grey.
Looks great! What’s the concept behind the Sogno Del Mare?
Modern setting for dormitory and to sell pizza.
What would you say is the best thing about the Sogno Del Mare?
The location… Close to the beach. The full moon beach. For the night of the full moon party– they are already there!
It’s great for the party, modern dormitory with good food.
Beach is just 30 seconds walk away, come off beach when hot and go back.
Can you describe it to us?
The dorm is on top. Downstairs is the big restaurant and the bar. Comfort, taste and can also cater for a nice meal.
What’s the food like?
It’s a pizzeria so it’s pizza and pasta. Henrico, the chef, he loves to make pizza.
We have focaccia bread, pizza, Italian olive oil, home-made pasta.
Any special offers?
Free pizza for dormitory.
If you book a bed- you get a free pizza.
Best pizza on the menu?
I create my own.
Can customers do the same?
Yes, but not the same as mine. I add so many ingredients! I don’t think any anyone else would like it!
What ingredients do you use and where do you source them?
We import from Italy. Everything is Italian.
So, what are your best hopes for the future of the business?
Start to work really well! I have it for 6 months ago. It’s great but in the future I’m going to make some changes too.
