Phanganist meets Bandon clinic in Haad Rin
We spoke to Chanthima the owner of the clinic in Haad Rin.
There are a few Bandon clinics on the island, also the hospital in Baan Tai which takes care of of both tourist and locals.
The clinic is open 24 hours a day all year round. The clinic in Haad Rin is on Haad Rin road on the way to the pier.

Bandon clinics advise that the main treatment that they undertake for patients are due to motorbike accidents which include broken bones, especially broken hands and ankles and they also deal with deep wounds that require stitches.
The treatment including stitches can be done at the clinic without the need to visit the hospital on the island.
If people require X-rays then these can be done here at the clinic if there is a suspected broken bone. If there is a serious injury the patient can be easily transferred to the hospital on Koh Samui as they have their own speedboat to get the patient there as quick as possible and a CT scan can be done at the hospital at the Koh Samui.
The speedboat takes 20 minutes and then transfer to the hospital on Koh Samui can be arranged immediately.
There is a Doctor here in the Haad Rin clinic available 24 hours for anything that needs treating or if the patient is suffering from skin allergies or rashes which can sometimes occur and there is no need for hospital treatment. Prescriptions can be provided for the local pharmacy by the doctor so your holiday can be enjoyed as much as possible.
The clinic in Haad Rin has the same facilities available as the hospital in Baan Tai so if you are in Haad Rin try this clinic first as there may be no need to travel to the hospital in Baan Tai.
There are English speaking staff that can contact your insurance company in your home country and arrange the payments if needed from the insurer.

The last patient they had before we spoke to them had a broken leg and was sent to Koh Samui on the speedboat after being comforted at the clinic in Haad Rin.
Bandon clinic has been open for 30 years and is very experienced in all problems tourists will face.
Phanganist hopes that you never have to visit a clinic here on Koh Phangan but it is good to know that if something does go wrong you can have professional care from Bandon which has been open on the island for 30 years so there is nothing they haven't seen.
Stay safe people and remember that these small clinics can save you lots of time and stress if something can go wrong and you can continue to enjoy your holiday without the need to visit the big hospitals on the island.
