The annual ASEAN Sustainable Tourism Solutions Expo (ASTSE) will go online this year, with a two-day free-to-access program starting on November 5.
The event, usually hosted in Laos, is recognized as the leading specialized tourism trade fair in South-East Asia that supports sustainable tourism and hospitality practices.
Powered by the vFairs platform, this year's virtual edition will see 20 exhibitors from across the country and beyond presenting their products, services, and initiatives.
They represent many categories relevant to the theme of the event: supplies of eco-friendly hotels, alternatives to plastic, conservation systems for water and energy, as well as programs and projects.
The symposium, which gathers together renowned thinkers to discuss subjects that are of great importance to the regional tourism industry, is a highlight of the ASTSE.
On November 5, four live panel discussions will be held: The Future of Tourism in ASEAN, Crisis Communications for Tourism Destinations, Using Technologies to Improve hospitality sector Sustainability, and How Do We Help Tourism-Dependent Communities Together?
Also, a workshop on the same day will be held entitled Reducing Plastic Waste While Keeping Your Customers Healthy.
Visitors can join the panel discussion on the second day of the event, What to Do Now to Build Back Stronger and Greener? And the Cutting Operation Costs workshop by Resource Efficiency.
There will also be some webinars on-demand that can be accessed at any time during the expo by tourists.
For tourism industry professionals based in Laos, ASTSE offers a face-to-face event opportunity. On November 6 to 7, a physical exposition will take place at Crowne Plaza Vientiane, with an additional 35 exhibitors, panel discussions, and a networking event.
With the support of the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment, the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the German Development Cooperation, ASTSE is organized by the Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism.
