Why Not?

At Taladkao road, right at the center of Thong Sala there is a snack bar "Why Not?" located under a small and sweet guest house.

The owners Tom and Maren arrived to the island two and a half years ago from Germany and opened it. The bar quickly became the center spot for the German travelers who come to Koh Phangan. 
Swiss, Austrians and sports fans from across the globe adopted the cool spot.

Large TV screen broadcasting sport events such as Formula 1, football and other sports is located on the main wall.  Our favorite weekends at the "why not?" is when the German league is playing, Tom prepares his special potatoes salad. we all enjoy so much.

On Saturday Taladkao road  is closed for vehicles.  Colorful stands decorate the road offering clothing, cool accessories and delicious food.  All at very low prices.

"Why not?"  is very crowded on Saturdays.  Finding an empty stool at the bar might be challenging.  Standing, chatting or watching the games is easily done standing especially when a Heineken is in hand.  Cozy friendly atmosphere draws us all back every weekend.

The décor at Why Not? is very unique.  The walls covered with scarves of football teams from all around the world, and Tom welcomes sport fan to proudly add their favorite team scarf to his huge collection.

He preserves some empty spot on the wall.

The menu is combined mostly of German style cuisine as traditional snack bar; beverages, sandwiches, burgers and various kinds of sausages and from the Italian cuisine; pasta, salads and some very delicious, sweet desserts.

Above it all we cannot do without the famous “German Breakfast” favored by the steady customers.

The next room is hosting a pool table, it's free of charge and all guests are welcome to join and show their talent and try their luck.

The Guest house on the second floor contains 4 rooms in different sizes at a price range between 250 to 350 Baht per night.

"Why not?" is one of the island’s sweetest and welcoming spot with a positive and warm atmosphere for sport fans, Germans who are looking for a homey vibe and to every traveler who wants to enjoy some good food and nice chat with other mates.
