Hyde is the founder of Orbital Experiences, a full service Event Management Firm with big size projections since 1997. Their worldwide booking agency without borders is called Illumiania Planet. He can also do event design consultations and is a phy-trance parties organizer, and a Goa trance pioneer.
In January, he came to dive in Koh Tao and Koh Samui where upon he fell in love with his Thai muse Palm. Meanwhile, DJ Lars Lee (the two have known each other quite a while now, since 2000, by the Berlin Goa scene) came to know that he was in Thailand nearby. Lee sent his friend a psytrance mix from the Halfmoon Festival. So impressed with the place by the music, Jekyll was inspired and sent Lee his Mushroom Magazine interview with the request that he please give it to the festivals organizers.
His Koh Phangan Story
Soon after , he was invited to meet with the organizers and present to them his ideas on-site. Immediately, he checked his options and contacts in event design around Asia. That’s when he organzied and put together his Orbital Experiences Life is Magic and Magic is Life Free Asia Promo Tour 2014.
With four projectors packed in his baggage he flew to Koh Phangan.
Orbital Experiences is first introduced into the party scene via Halfmoon after a sucessful presentation with its organizers.
He also did some smaller projects during his free time at Bay Lounge Resort, Ban Ta Lay Resort Koh Phangan, and Hansa Resort.
On one of his last ferry rides from Koh Samui to Koh Phangan Hyde had the pleasure of meeting Queen Luana and Oliver Twist. They hit it off straight from the start having conversations filled with enthusiasm about collaboration possibilities.
They met up again while on Koh Phangan at the Alien Sistars studio and explored the possibilities of (combining their skills) colaboration. In the mix of it all he was also introduced to Queen Luana’s sister AiA for his interview.
What makes you and what you do special?
I make people happy by painting the world with projectors! Projections are one of the keys to the human brain; light forms and structures.
Do you find Koh Phangan to be a good place for your lifestyle?
"Pure magic, pure humans, no rip off, just love…OFF COURSE this is a good place!"
What do you feel you can bring to the Koh Phangan scene?
Very simple…Life is Magic, Love, Creation, Evolution, and Happiness. Time is too short to be an asshole and do harm or ruin other’s energy on this planet.
Where is your favourite place on the island?
Halfmoon Festival, Bay Lounge Resort, Baan Sabai, Hansa Resort, all Thai restaurants on the street.
Do you have future plans here?
Halfmoon Festival October and Halfmoon in Love 2015…February has a BIG setup plan! Feel free to book me if I fly in. I have a tech visa based in Thailand.
What do you wish to learn (or have learned) from your Phangan experience?
Learning is a process in our mind! I have always my eyes open for learning everything I see I put in memory. I don’t expect anything ever…for me all comes as it has to be 24 hours a day seven days a week 356 days a year = all my life.
How did you get to where you are today?
In 1993 hearing techno, and then going to my first Shiva Moon Party...In Germany 1995, was an evolutionary mind experience and I knew my way to the future. In 1997 I was still in auto mechanical school. Around this time I launched Orbital Experiences. My way today was written from this moment on.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Ha-ha-ha, I don’t have a crystal shining ball of stars to look into…but I see me still fighting against the system and using the tools of communication for spreading out good vibes and unity full of love and creation.
His philosophy:
"Always be flexible, like Bruce Lee said, “be like water”. He is my mentor. All that you do will come back, believe me I know about this! I used to be bad, very bad, and it gets back to me. But I’ve changed to only do good now and get good in return."
