Welcome Back to Koh Phangan to Jan and Felix!The guys plays a pretty wide range of House, Techno and Disco, with a passion for the good old days.
"Certain sounds and vibes goes good together with certain audiences, so we kind of arrange our music by the different parties that we throw," Jan said about their music styles.
"DISCO ROBOT for booty-shaking classic and nu styles of Disco, for Funk, Soul, early House & Techno.
BERLIN BEATS for the more Electronic & atmospheric, and possible harder, sound coming out of Europe and particularly Berlin at the moment, and MUSICPEOPLE for any style of House that excites us, old and new, but always aimed at the dance floor."
Jan and Felix are currently residents in Bangkok's Black Pagoda venue.
Here they are swinging their Disco Drives to the Crowd with their long-running DISCO ROBOT night.
They visited Phangan last year in October where they played in the Loi Lay Floating Boat and Bar venue, and as Jan said about their return to Phangan, before their arrival;
" We are happy as two 5-week old puppies, with flights booked, beach-bod-exercise regiment program in place and Dengue-fever-health-insurance renewed."
Actually young Felix Moreno ventured back to Phangan at the start of this year, without Jan, the Jaydubb, and played at Loi Lay again.
"Since our debut at Loi Lay we have been überkeen to get back to this beautiful place and play a few more jams as well.
I had several goes at lining things up but it just never quite happened for whatever reason." Jan tells Phanganist about their returning plans.
"So, as that sad situation has now been rectified, we are of course as happy as mentioned above!
Where have you guys been roaming the last months?
"Moreno went back to Germany for a few months.
Since his return to BKK we have had two parties at Glow and also resurrected our long-running DISCO ROBOT night at Bangkok’s sleaziest mirror-ball venue, The Black Pagoda.
I have really missed playing all that old Disco & Boogie & early House / Techno stuff in a hands-in-the-air club environment - so when 140 people turned up to our jam and stayed until 4 in the morning we were so happy and buzzing!
The next DISCO ROBOT has already been scheduled and we will go all night long," - Jan Jaydubb reveals to Phanganist.
Any new projects coming up?
"Some old, some new.
Our probably most successful party, BERLIN BEATS, had been sent off in style and then stuck in a box in the attic when Felix went back to Germany.
As he is back in BKK though, there will be one-year anniversary party in September where we hope to recreate that same vibe.
I’m also working on a new monthly night at a well-known Soi 11 venue, an intimate, warm jam with proper lush house music, New York loft party style.
And possibly an international DJ booking or two before the end of the year. Watch this space!"
What did you bring back with you from phangan last time ?
Just lots of new and positive impressions, resolutions to come back quick quick (yeah right) and I think Felix may have had some nasty rash.
- and what did you bring with you to Phangan?
Insect repellant and party kids attractant. What else do you need down there? You seem to have everything already.
