Jungle Experience is one of the original underground dance gatherings on Koh Phangan.
This unique eco party location in a beautiful secret garden clearing deep amid the Baan Tai jungle has a natural mountain stream running through the party zone and leading you to the stunningly decorated dancefloor.
Phanganist had a small talk with TYPE 1 before his appearance in The Jungle;
Type 1 has played alongside some of the world’s favourites, such as Groove Armada & Joris Voorn.
In 2012 he decided to make a permanent move to Bangkok.
He has already played various gigs in BKK, including Bed Super Club, Q Bar, Glow, Bash, Levels and Tapas, and multiple parties in Koh Phangan, including Backyard, Mellow Mountain, Rhythm and Sands & The Recovery Rooms.
He runs the label Malfunction Records, hugely successful since its launch in June 2010.
Type 1 has teamed up with a Bangkok Veteran DJ, Cello, and set up Malfunktion Deep in 2012, which has seen massive support already.
Now he is back to Play the Jungle on April 21.

We are happy to see you behind the Jungle decks! What do you feel that you can bring to the Phangan scene?
I'm from London and think London has a unique underground house sound.
I tend not to follow trends and play tracks that are personal to me.
New and old and not what’s charting on Beatport from month to month,
I like to think of it still as having a record bag where I couldn't carry more than 80 records to a gig,
I have a more extensive collection of digital music I take to gigs, but I keep this personal and delete tracks I buy that I’m not that into.
What can we expect from your performance in Jungle on 21st April?
Music-wise groovy sub by tech House.
I feel that DJs should be interesting to watch and entertain the crowd.
I like to get involved with the crowd, jeering them up at breakdowns etc.!
