After continuing his spiritual journey to India we are very happy to welcome DJ Herman Perez Saiz back to Koh Phangan! He was kind enough to fill us in on his time spent in India and also to let us know what he has in store while he is back on the island.
Welcome back to the island Herman! So what have you been up to since we talked last?
From the last time since we talked I travelled to India for 6 months. There I spent some time cultivating my spiritual life with Indian philosophy. I was in an ashram for 3 months attending a yoga teacher training course. After my course I spent my time travelling around Goa practising yoga & playing music.
It sounds like you've really been making the most of your time travelling have you got any more plans for the future?
The truth is I have been travelling from Chile for 2 years so just continuing to travel & I have started to produce music again.
It's your second time playing on the island, what do you feel that you brought and bring to the Phangan scene?
I bring some new sounds & fresh music putting all my love & happiness into every gig.
Which venues have you already played in and where can we next see you in action?
My last gig was in Merkaba in late March with Ben Lincon, which was a very nice German Techno Night.
On the 6th of April I played in Loi Lay with Miguel Matoz and Pablo Escobud & on the 11th of April I will play in Merkaba again with Miguel Matoz and NU Form.
That sounds great I'm excited to hear more of your music! So tell us, which are your favourite venues here?
I like Merkaba, it’s a very nice place to play music, share with friends and its one of the clubs that has given me the opportunity to show my music. I love Pirates bar to dance under the stars & the vibe that you can feel in that place. Jungle Experience is definitely one of the festivals that I would love to play at.
So second time round, what are you hoping to learn from your Phangan experience?
Wow, actually I have learnt a lot in my travels. But I have learnt here how important friendship is and the love of music.
How do you feel you have progressed from last years wishes and plans?
I feel my life plans are very clear and I know myself better. Definitely I fucking love music and I love to play music. Im still looking for something for my life but Im pretty sure that I will find it soon.
Have you got any wise words to share with the people of Koh Phangan?
Maybe the most important thing I can share with people is to live intensely, live from your heart, enjoy your life, feel the music, be aware of your feelings & love what you do.
All the best, MuchLove <3 Light & Music :)
