After founding his collective “Phobia”, he set the benchmark for underground and open air raves in the triangle germany-switzerland-france in the years after the millennium.
From village-people-djing he expanded into residencies in leading techno & house clubs of the southwest corner germany’s, mainly named Exodus Parkhaus in Kenzingen, where he was running spaced a floor with his crew.
The hard pace of this club took also clearly noticeable in his sets up to harder techno. He is always absorbing new influencies in several kinds of electronic music by his environment, other artists and producers as well as the avidity constantly finding some new stuff.
The audience’s favour he gets about showing up the class of the contemporary music in giant events like Big Bang, and of course in his many hours long trippy sets around uplifting minimaltechno to housy wildstyle and four-to-the-floor-techno. Never forget the groove and the funk!
The knowledge about the effects of music he turned into working deeper in the music scene, so he entered to write about music for the south german nightlife magazine “Nitebeat”.
His skills made him work for several labels as press writer.
In 2008 he accomplished some producer friends to launch the booking agency “Beeson”. Cooperations with Ralph Sliwinski, Syntec and NDKJ from Italy and Frankfurts music distribution DBH, especially with Robert Drewek, Matt Star and WJ Henze, were the consequences. Same time, he released his first 2 remixes: one on NDKJ’s Heatflow label, and the other in cooperation with Linus Quick on Neverending Rec. for Citizen Kain & Phuture Traxx.
The overexcitement of this work and playing too much in the clubs, as well as the need to change life and profession, let him move to Berlin.
In the meantime he has thrown parties in the freshly built up location Damensalon and he has found his basic with the friends of Spreekader, with who he runs the new thursday nights “Foreplay” “ in Tresor Club Berlin and made it to an international get-together to slide smoothly into the weekend.
His producing skills made one more remix with Liebe//Triebe act Mathias Webster on Hat Records. And some collaborations with Luos Records will bring the first vinyl release in the beginning of 2013!
Now on Phangan!
What is your Koh Phangan story?
- My first time on the island was last year and I was totally amazed about the atmosphere and the beauty of the island.
I love the mix between chilled-out paradise, great spiritual people and jungle parties.
You played in Pirates bar – how did you like that?
- Last year I played once in this lovely hidden place and it was big fun!
Looking forward to enter the pirates at the beach again on March 12 2014!
Do you have other plans to play on Phangan?
- Yes some things are confirmed and something’s are still cooking.
I will play at the Open Air Musix Festival in the jungle of Bantai on March 23 and one more gig in Merkaba.
What is the best thing you ever been involved with or done?
- I think the best thing I have done to find way to feel free.
It means giving up my old job and following my passion – the music!
Creating in and for the scene and living this way. Bringing my desire for the music to the people and sharing this feeling. That’s it!
Which music did you bring in your record bag for Phangan?
- A taste of Berlin underground deeptech sound with a sunny flavour, and a smiling face ))
Actually I’m not consequently fixed on one style, so I can play an enchanting sundowner set, as well as a kick-your-ass-set.
Do you find Koh Phangan to be a good place for your music?
- I think so! There are many good and energized people with a good taste for electronic music.
Where is your favourite place here?
- I guess I was totally flashed by the morning hours in Eden’s Garden last year, and of course Guys Bar.
But I also love the quiet places and beaches in the north.
For sunsets I like Had Yao, it’s magic.
What do you hope to bring with you back from Phangan?
- I will bring back for sure a cleared mind after calming down on the island with lovely people.
It will give me new power to continue all my projects.
What are your next projects?
- Actually too many things and projects are coming up.
There are releases, events and different music & art projects I’m involved in.
In March is the vinyl-only release on Swiss label Questo?!Music, and later on some digital ones, for example together with Dominik Vaillant from Berlin.
There are two weekly events which keep my constantly busy.
On Wednesdays in Arena Club in Berlin it’s “Hummmpday”, which is still in work-up phase but starting to roll, and the Thursdays in Crack Bellmer, my “affair of the heart” called “as usual”, that launches soon a digital label for that significant sounds and artist friends.
Furthermore it’s my scientific side for music, after I released a book about the vinyl scene, which wants to be continued and some current studies are waiting to be presented to the public.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
- Ha-ha, I don’t even know where I see myself in 6 Months. ))
If you were your own mother what would you tell yourself?
- Well done, boy!
How did you get to where you are today? What is your life philosophy?
- I simply realised that you only can reach something if you really want it and acting by the heart.
I did mistakes and still doing mistakes, but I’m learning through my mistakes. Nothing is perfect or has to be perfect, but it has to have a personality. As long as you don’t spend your time doing something that you don’t want, it’s all good.
Thank you very much for your time Bee!!
Phanganist wishes you lots of good luck and wicked beatz !!
Looking forward to the 12th at Pirates Bar and 23rd at the Open Air Festival !!
See you there !!
