My boyfriend is Vegan and I’m Vegetarian. In order to stay fresh and healthy, we prefer to cook ourselves and know what ingredients we put.
It’s important to eat different colors of veggies and fruits because each contains certain different vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants.
Today I wanna share with you a homemade Teriyaki sauce, which you can cook at home and enjoy with your family.
- Water - 1 cup;
- Soy sauce - 1 cup (recommend healthy boy brand with yellow label because it does not contain MSG);
- Mirin sauce - 1/2 cup (if cannot find you can use syrup from sugar it’s almost the same ;));
- Sugar - 100 grams or about ½ cup (you can use brown sugar or cane sugar. At home we use only coconut sugar, which is healthier);
- Roasted white sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon;
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon;
- Minced ginger - teaspoon.
Ok, now you put everything in your cooking pot and let it boil for at least 1hr. or until the sauce gets thick!
Now we got yummy sauce so I made
- tufu and veggies BBQ
- cabbage carrot salad
- miso soup
- seaweed salad
- vegan cheese and wasabi
Served with red rice
and of cause all is Vegan and no MSG !!
